5 Basic Rules of web design

Tips Designs

5 Basic Rules of web design, the most important rule in web design is that your website must be easy to read. What does this mean? You must select the text and background colors very carefully. You do not want to use a dark background that the text or use colors that are difficult to read. The dark color of the text on a light background is easier to read than light text on a dark background.

You do not want to set the font size is too small (hard to read) or too big (it will appear to shout at visitors). All capital letters give the appearance of shouting at your visitors.

Maintain the alignment of the main text on the left side, not quarry. Center edge of the text is best used in headlines. You want your visitors to be sure they read, and most of the text left aligned.

Your site must be easy to navigate
All your links should be clear to your visitors. Graphic images, such as buttons or tabs that must be clearly marked and easy to read. Your web designer should choose the colors, backgrounds, textures and special effects to your web graphics very carefully. It is more important than their tabs and navigation buttons easy to read and understand that an “eye” effects. Link colors in your text should be familiar to your visitor (blue text usually indicates an unvisited link and purple or maroon text usually indicates visited link), if possible. If you do not use the default color, text links should be emphasized in some other way (boldfaced, and the larger the font, set between small vertical line, or a combination thereof). Links should be text only – not look like any other text on your pages. You do not want users clicking on your headlines, as it believes that the titles of the references.

Users should be able to find what they want on your site within three clicks. If not, it is very likely that, then leave your site as soon as you click.

Your site must be easy to find

How can users find your site online? Myth: “If I create a website, they will come”, is still widespread belief among companies and organizations new to the Internet. People do not come to your website if you promote your site online or offline.

Web sites promoted online via search engines, directories, award website, advertising banners, e-zines (electronic magazines) and links to other websites. If you’re unfamiliar with any of these terms in the network, it is better to have your own website promotes a professional online marketing.

Websites are promoted offline via the usual methods of advertising: print ads, radio, television, brochures, word of mouth, etc. Once you have created a website, and all companies, including printed materials, business cards visitation, letterhead, envelopes, invoices, etc should have your URL printed on them.

Not only can your website be easy to find, but their contact information should be readily available. People want to know that there are people on the other side of the website which can help if:

1. They need answers to questions that are not always available on its website;

2. Some of the items on your site does not work, and end users should be able to tell you about it, and

3. Directory publishers to change parts of the site to make sure your site is the most appropriate category.

Providing all relevant data (address, phone number, fax number and email address), is also creating a sense of security to their end users. Can communicate with you that makes them feel more comfortable.

Your web page layout and design should be consistent throughout the site

As with any document format into a text editor or in any brochures, newsletters, newspapers or publishing in the format of the program, all the graphics and elements, fonts, headers and footers should be consistent in all the web site. Consistency and coherence throughout the document, if a report or set of web pages, and project a professional image.

For example, if you use the shadow as a special effect on your points, you must use the shadows to all your bullets. Link-colors should be consistent throughout your web pages. Sources and background colors, everything must remain in place.

Colors of the website, in particular, need this consistency. Fuentes, aligned in the main text and lines, the effects of background and special effects are on schedule to remain unchanged. Only the color needs to change.

Your website must be fast to download

Studies have shown that users quickly lose interest in your site, if the majority of the pages being loaded in 15 seconds. (Artists pages should be a warning at the top of the page.) Even the web sites, which are made in high-end users should consider download times. At times, visit the Web site, such as Microsoft and Sun Microsystems are difficult and time consuming that visitors often try to gain access to the after hours from their homes. If your company does not have good brand recognition, it is best to keep the download time as short as possible.

A good application of this rule is to add animation to your site. Of course, the animation is cool and makes the first catch your eye, but animation graphics tend to be large files. Loading time of your test page first. If the load time the page is relatively short and the animation does not add unduly to increase the loading time of your page, then and only then the animation should be considered.

Finally, before considering personal preferences of your web pages, you must consider all the above rules FIRST and adapt your personal preferences, respectively. The attitude “I do not like how it looks” should always be secondary to your website function. What is more important: the art / image, or to run a successful business?
